The SKN 2008 potluck party coincides with the Grand Opening of the W7OS Museum after some extensive fixing up.

The ole Globscout-65 and Drake 2B receiver were used as a 'back-up' SKN station. One QSO was made on it by KR7W.

The gizmo on top of the Globescout with the lightbulb on it is a D-I-Y antenna tuner. There is a tuned circuit with tapped links to match the Hi Z antenna to the 50 to 200 Ohm XMTR output.

The parallel wires on the ceiling is the feed-line that goes to the antenna switch (to the right). The DIY antenna tuner is connected with alligator clip clad wires.

This homebrew switch (from a long time ago) switches the outside doublet antenna to either the Old Oak Rig or to the paralell feed-line wires that run along the ceiling.

The big bee-hive insulators at the top is the path to the outside (through the wall).

Here's the Old Oak Rig in its new corner location out of the way of the window. Note the Antenna Switch at the upper right.

Per the Museum remodeling plan... the old workbench was removed, rebuilt, and then rotatated 90 degrees clockwise. This move allows more room in front of the window.

The new equipment shelf atop the bench, shelf under the bench, the wall shelf (on left), and the top shelf along the wall (9 ft long) create more room for storage.

This desk has a two-way writing surface. As seen now... there is a large surface to work at. A handle can be pulled and the desk top disappears and the old mill (typewriter) appears on a second desk top surface.

There is a plan to iafix a period telegrapher's key to the right side of the desk and connect it to the sounder. Can you copy American Morse?

The desk was cleaned up and polished with Old English by Pat WT7N. It sure shines now.
