The Radio Club of Tacoma is a nonprofit public service organization serving FCC-licensed amateur ("ham") radio operators in Pierce County, Washington, and throughout the South Puget Sound region.

Visitors and new members are always welcome! We hope you'll take the opportunity to check in to the club's weekly two meter net or attend a club meeting.

We hope you'll also sign up for a class, visit the Clubhouse on Saturday, take a turn operating the W7DK radio station, discover the library, explore the W7OS Antique Radio Museum, or join us at one of our many activities scheduled throughout the year.

Notes and Upcoming Events

December 13 - Annual Awards Banquet

This pot-luck event will take place at the time and place of our usual Regular monthly meeting.  More details are available here.

December 31 - Straight Key Night (0000z Jan. 1, 2026)

Each year the club combines participation in ARRL Straight Key Night with a social get-together at the clubhouse. Here are the details.

Technician Licensing Classes

If you are interested in attending a Technician Licensing Class, please click here for the training schedule for 2025 & 2026. Our next class is currently scheduled on January 10th & 11th, 2026.

General and Extra Licensing Classes

If you are interested in advancing your class of license to General or Extra Class please see the following link in order to inquire or register for the class.  Our next Extra class is scheduled to begin January 19th, 2026. Please let the instructor know you are interested.

If you are interested in taking our next General Class, we are currently scheduled to begin the class on April 20th, 2026.

Regular Club Activities

Saturday	10AM - 2PM	Open House, more information here.
Tuesday	7:30 PM	2M net on the 147.28 repeater.
Thursday	6-9PM	HF Night at the clubhouse.  Many have asked for time other than Saturdays when they could get on the air at the clubhouse, so here it is... COME ON DOWN!  Learn about and operate the club's equipment -- hosted by the HF Committee. Note:  no HF Night on Dec. 25. If you work W7DK on HF Night (or any time), ask the name and call sign of the operator, if not given, and build your log pile toward a Logger's Certificate.
1st Wednesday	7PM	Hybrid Board of Directors meeting at the clubhouse and on Zoom. See Club Meetings for more information.
2nd Saturdays	1PM-3PM	Hybrid Regular Meeting at Eagles South Tacoma #2933, 7037 S. Pine Street and on Zoom. NOTE:  we have normal Open House hours on meeting Saturdays. See Club Meetings for more information.
